Delivery from US help pls, by jfury on Oct 19, 2007 10:06:45 GMT 1, Can someone help me out - I have recently purchased 2 prints from an ebay seller based in the US worth about £2.5K. I have requested an insured service up to the value of the prints (will come in 2 seperate tubes) and have requested a decent courier service...fedex etc. So far the communication from the seller has been superb and seems like a decent guy.
Two questions though:
1) How much should I expect to pay for delivery? 2) Payment will be by bank transfer (at my request) so do I transfer the money in £ or $ - and will there be any extra charges?...I will be using a high street bank for the transfer.
Any help much appreciated

Delivery from US help pls, by Rude Copper on Oct 19, 2007 10:33:43 GMT 1, i had a print sent by fedex priority(3day), it cost £110, it was a 5ft tube tho, tax should be 5% if you have any reservations, consider paying by escrow, they charge a fee, but you get a 2 day inspection period before they release the funds to the seller.

Delivery from US help pls, by robo on Oct 19, 2007 11:00:24 GMT 1, Before the items are delivered to you, you are likely to get VAT charges from UK customs at 5% or 17.5% depending on the items. Deliveries can be held up several weeks by this process. The VAT-able amount is the print value (which matches the insured amount) plus the postage cost. Plus an £8 handling fee that makes this expensive for small items.
Hope that helps!
