Had one final check in with my mum. “Did you get an email about Banksy” I asked for the 50th time. “No” she replied. “Oh” I sighed. “Never mind” she said “what would you like for Christmas?”. I wanted to shout “a fucking Banksy print obviously!” “An electric shaver” I replied. “Lovely” she said. Life has officially moved on!

That said, liking it because it is Banksy does not mean being greedy or indoctrinated.
I like that this is the last Banksy memento from POW, which was one of the greatest ever outfits in the scene. That is the value of this print for me, so missing out on this is nothing more than missing out on a cool sticker...

For me I’ve always loved to idea of the Sale Ends and Festival one’s. My favourites being Nola, CYW, Applause and Trolleys. My least favourite by far being Doughnuts.

We’ve all been through the disappointment of missing out but why is this so bad. Yes, of course it’s a Banksy, it’s signed, it’s worth thousands, it’s mint, but it’s more than that.
This drop represents the end of POW with all of the nostalgia that brings. For those who missed the glory years of POW, this was their chance to be involved in a Banksy drop.
F5 bun fights are over in a flash, the fear and realisation of missing out is over in a flash. This has been a lingering death. Hope picked up and dropped over several weeks.
I feel like Banksy and POW have taken me to their dune sea, and thrown me into the pit of Carkoon to be digested by the powerful Sale Ends Sarlacc.

Having had my expectations realized, now I have convinced myself that it is better this way. The image isn’t my favorite yet I would morally be unable to flip it and would feel an obligation to put it on the wall. And, I already own some of my favorite Banksy prints from a much cheaper era so am genuinely happy for all of the Banksy virgins out there that won, even if they are a small subset of the total. Either way, I think it is really amazing that POW did the lottery and the threads have been a great source of laughter.

Not sure if did win it what I would do with it apart from swap it as don’t like the image (if wasn’t Banksy don’t think it would get the time of day) so didn’t bother applying.

I wonder why POW chose to describe it as a "lottery" ? Everyone knows that today one cannot buy a signed Banksy print for 500 quid. That the value is far higher.
People entered the lottery to be abe to buy the print for a fraction of it's market value.

I was lucky enough to come out of a bunfight or two with a Banksy at cost which was amazing, and in my case, truely life changing. Thanks guys.

I suppose indirectly because of them I have met many interesting people, made a lot of friends, painted at Glastonbury twice and had my work hung in the V&A museum. Thanks for the ride.
