ALICE PASQUINI - Urban Painting Xmas Sale, by Deleted on Dec 27, 2012 7:54:00 GMT 1, Ahaha, never heard of this Alice until I noticed she was publicly insulted/bashed by C215 on C215's FB page few months ago calling her basicly a "stupid copycat who failed to do original stuff and spent her last years copying him". A very nasty conversation that was promptly deleted by C215 himself (a bad habit).
I was always puzzled by C215 posts insulting copycats (without naming them) or galleries (for doing poor exhibition of not-real street artists or selling in mass like in supermarket) and blogs/bloggers for resharing bad stuff... I guess Urban Painting will not get any C215 soon
Well done for the sale and all the best to Pasquini and all copycats around !

ALICE PASQUINI - Urban Painting Xmas Sale, by Deleted on Dec 27, 2012 10:53:58 GMT 1, Yeah, they worked together in the beginning I think...
It started with Arianna (Alice's sister) posting a msg on C215 FB page saying he should stop deleting stuff posted by her sister and that he should get a life and stop applying censorship... reply was that his page is not a democraty and he is an happy dictator... then communication went nasty in C215 FB page as well as in Alice page where C215 posted as well... all posts were deleted 10 mn after
Was happy to see this because I got the same treatment two days before...
It seems C215 got enough of copycats and street art business in general lately - www.dumbwall.com/interview-with-c215/ - a paradox I fail to understand !!
***********
"About street thieves, copycats and haters : Human being no more than a monkey, what he can not imitate or possess, he's destroying..."
"Street Art is the first artistic movement in the world where "critics" are basically made of commercial press releases... hard to read anything constructively negative about anybody being "famous", while the same texts are running everywhere online like loops without any real examination of their content."
I wanna say thank you to all of you following my works and thoughts on Facebook and other social networks.
"Thanks to you all attending my pages I can stay free and independent, painting and expressing my self in the way I want against all kind of censorship or boycotts from greedy galleries, journalists, critics, local lobbies and all these cynical people who believe they can manage artists like products, all these useless "mediators" who make a living from artists work without bringing them nothing if not spoliation, control and bloodsucking."
"De plus en plus de nouveaux intervenants veulent tourner le graffiti et l'art de rue en phรฉnomรจne de foire. Si cela continue, on verra des "artistes" s'adonnant ร des animations graffiti et street art dans les supermarchรฉs. On n'est pas des bรชtes de cirque. Ca file la gerbe."

You felt sorry for him after reading that interview? Many people have said he's a dick but I've always reserved judgement. After reading that article, if I owned work by him, all I'd want to do is get rid. What a drymounting hypocrite!

ALICE PASQUINI - Urban Painting Xmas Sale, by kenzler on Dec 29, 2012 13:03:17 GMT 1, I felt sad after reading that yes. I'm not one with words but for *anyone* who's in the spotlight more often than not it must be very hard to live a normal life. You must ask what goes on in someone's mind to feel that way.
I have some of his works but I wouldn't get rid. I like them Also this is the article I was referring to

ALICE PASQUINI - Urban Painting Xmas Sale, by trax51 on Dec 29, 2012 13:29:40 GMT 1, I don't get you guys... I think that everybody is slightly "over reacting" here... I know Christian a bit, and I totally understand his point of view... He likes to do street art with total freedom. He is sort of victim of his success, and not always so happy about it. Which I reckon is kind of a paradox for an artist... But still I can understand it. He doesn't like to deal with Galleries, because very often it's all about money... But he still need money to live, to pay for expense, etc. so yeah, he is kind of a Rebel in the Street Art movement, and I like that. When others are trying to get in the spotlight all the time and have transformed their work in a money making machine ( MBW, Fairey...) he choose another way.
last year the two best show from C215 that I saw where the one in a old church, pretty confidential with fantastic glass work and no champagne.... And the "Errance" permanent show in a homeless shelter in Paris. Not very Glamourous, and no works you can easily "flip" and make money with... But that's him !
And all those critizising him should first come to once to Vitry (his city just outside Paris) and see what he has done there, for free, just for the people to enjoy. This city is now probably the biggest open air Street art museum in the world, for the next generation to enjoy... He has my respect for that as well....
