Here's a some better shots comparing the two variations off the Crude Oils postcard packs I've got...

This photo shows the difference in the typography on the front, notice the bolder type on the right hand version plus the slightly oversized 'C' in 'Crude'.


Here's a couple of close ups.



And here's the back, the bottom pack is the one with the bolder type on the front and the oversized 'C' of 'Crude', notice how the photo of the Giverny and Sun Flower paintings are totally different colours and lack detail. Also, the Banksy web address uses a slightly different typeface, it's bolder on the bottom version.


Not sure what to conclude, but the facts show there are two versions, with one having slightly dodgy type on the front and much poorer quality images on the back.

Conclusions… haven't got a clue!

Interesting ebay auction last night, t'was for a Turf War flyer, you'll notice (I didn't, cosmic pointed it out to me!) the 'Turf War' typography on the back is totally different to the other ones I've seen. Even Cornishcrayon's uncut printers sheet has the Germanic script.

Anyways, gutted, was the underbidder... next time.

The seller gave me some interesting information on the Elephant flyers, thought it might be worth sharing...

'I don’t know if this has ever been discussed on the forum..... There were 2 batches of the Elephant flyers at the exhibit. The batch on the first day was on a medium (in terms of thickness) paper sock and the batch the 2nd day were on a regular paper stock. The 2nd day flyers didn’t show up until probably half way through the afternoon and they came straight from Kinkos. Its not a nice glossy postcard or anything, its just a flyer really nothing special. These could def be faked so I wouldn’t attach to much value to it. The few remaining I have are from the 2nd day.

The posters were not available for sale at all on the first day. On the 2nd day a girl came out with a stack maybe an inch or 2 thick and was selling them. I think she put a loose limit on them of 5 per person and they were gone within an hour. I flew back home at the end of the 2nd day and don’t know what was avail in terms of posters or flyers on the 3rd day.'

Anyone else remember the variations of the Elephant flyer? Mine's one of the versions the guy got on the second day, normal laser paper type stuff.

I just found this pic of the Green peace poster I brought around 2006 ish looks and Its folded its been in the portfolio so long I had forgotten. I do have two of them in different sizes anyone know the deal the correct size?....

Iv got two of the Save or delete poster both different sizes and had a look at them yesterday..I brought them around 2006ish I think. One im sure is a fake as the printing Is not as detailed and the colors are different I will up load some pics when I get a chance....

Paul Smith bought the 'Sunflowers' canvas from his crude oils show... Used to be on display at his furniture/antiques store off New Bond St & Dover St.

I would guess that the smaller one on top is real as the detail is better and its on slightly thicker recycled paper...Also the detail is better and sharper and quite a difference in colour.....
