I found is general mocking of Frieze week a bit difficult to take when he was clearly taking advantage of it by hosting an exhibition at the same time to take advantage of the crowd in London. His incessant bleating about how awful bankers are when I guess he probably sells (or sold) quite a bit to them in the past is also quite disingenuous.

Not sure about JR producing strong political statement in his work... and disappointed by the fact that some promises made in Women are Heroes project were never realised (like building art center in slum)... I think JR is just playing the humanitarian card which is a bit sad !!
So even Steven Lazarides missed the graffiti artist who risked his life early 2012 to do a huge graffiti insulting MPs (a graffiti that hit the news wordlwide, e.g. CNN, The Guardian, Le Monde, Aj Jazeera, etc.); the graffiti artist who was named โPerson of the yearโ by Global Post with Assange, Clinton and Psy; the graffiti artist who was arrested recently for doing another graffiti live with camera crew from Italia; the same one who received Prince Claus (NL) award for his graffiti and had the opportunity to do a graffiti in front of Royal Palace in Netherlands; the same one who got the visit of Google Executive, Schmidt, yesterday !

Laz is responsible for bringing a genre into the mainstream and the fact that he's made a few on the way is irrelevant. MBW has just capitalised on the fact that the mainstream is now into art and is having a good old laugh at the expense of every poor sucker who coughs up 500 nicker to buy one of his unoriginal and predictable pieces of crap.
