bloody ebay, help please!, by snakes on Oct 26, 2007 23:15:15 GMT 1, Dear forum members your assistance is required,
i have a situation whereby i have sold something on ebay and a day after the sale, the buyer has contacted me stating that they purchased the wrong item that i was selling and is asking for a refund.
They have already paid for the said item, and i have paid ebay and paypal fees.
When they purchased, they would have been able to view the said item, a full description and even they would have had to be double sure when committing to buy!
What is the score in such a situation as i do not want to loose of on my own money (ebay and paypal fees) due to someones incompetence or due to them getting the bidding blues a day or so later and after some umming and erring thinking about whether they should or whether they should have not.
Yours assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated as i am no ebay expert and maybe some of you guys have had to experience this sort of thing b4.
What really gets me is that the buyer even asked me if i would ask the buyer of the other item i sold, the one he said he really meant to bid for would sell it to him now instead!
Many thanks in advance

bloody ebay, help please!, by snelj8 on Oct 27, 2007 3:15:31 GMT 1, refund minus all fees is best bet, ebay will only direct you to enter a dispute and that takes forever to resolve, and i believe you have to wait a certain number of days before you can file mutual agreement to get your ebay fees back .. imo i dont understand how he could confuse two sellers and two diff items??

If the fees aren't too steep i'd offer to refund him minus the fees and if he's not happy then go for the long winded ebay route .. gl

bloody ebay, help please!, by kiy on Oct 27, 2007 10:44:30 GMT 1, As mentioned before, when you issue a PayPal refund the fees you where charged are automatically refunded to you....
You can also claim the ebay commission back..
The ONLY thing you lose out on is the listing fee....depending on what price you listed for between 15p and £3.00....
and the hassle that goes with the refunding process.
I would be fair and ask the buyer to send you £5.00 for your hassle and refund the payment.
Ebay and PayPal suck, you wont get anywhere with them...and if a claim is made correctly by the buyer you will end up automatically giving a refund...
Feedback is bolocks also, ifyou leave negative feedback you will getnegative feedback.

bloody ebay, help please!, by Richard on Oct 27, 2007 11:45:23 GMT 1, You need to get the buyer to say you mutally decided not to go ahead with the transaction to get fees back (there is something special he has to click but can't remember where! Try searching the help page). When you refund PayPal the fee is refunded also.
Hope this helps!
