For the pictures covering the rooftops, he used water resistant material so they can be used as tarpaulin. It was quite a success as in 2009, they covered 2000 square meters, and another 1800 in 2010. He comes back almost every year, work with the local MSF office so i really doubt that people over there think he did a mess. YOu can check on google earth to see the rooftops...
Maybe the first pictures pasted in 2007 were the usual cheap paper and were left behind, but the project developed in Kibera in from 2009 is completely different and had an impact on the community. He also produced a book in 2010 for the women of Kibera and all the copies were distributed in the community.
