I'm slightly confused by the backlash against this print. Image seems to be reasonably consistent in style/humour with his past output. Not his best but certainly not his worst. £200 seems a decent price given the way his originals are fetching several thousand plus. Cheapest signed work he has put out since everything went Dran crazy too. Will be interesting to see what 2013 has in store for him

I don't think the issue is with the 'black comedy' aspect of his work. I think the issue is that the image is kind of 'meh.' Not great to begin with but the more you see it, the more the joke becomes kind of played out or boring. So much talent but his last releases have been pretty weak. In sports, players go through slumps, perhaps this occurs in the art world as well. I am sure he will bounce back. If not, hopefully exhibit will go down in price and I can pick one up at cost

In any case I think that if someone buys it, it's first because he was able to buy it, and second because he liked it. The funny thing is that "price crash" was sold with a "price crash" ...probaly made purposely? There are some spaces left in white in the image, maybe Dran will make you some additions by hand before shipping? I would like to have one of these but not at flipped price..

Mine was just an allusion for to say that many in the world would like to hang at home "Judith Beheading Holofernes", even in front of their children despite the impact of a realistic horror image, the same people that maybe now are scandalized for this satirical cartoon splatter...only this.

Easy pass for me. I'd have to agree with those on here that think his work is getting worse by the release.

I have received several PM's stating that I have compromised my neutral position as a Mod due to my negative public stance on the latest Dran print. I just want to say that although it was completely out of character for me to make such public comments - I as well as any other volunteer staff member should have the right to express our opinion publicly positively or negatively as long as it doesn't violate Proboard rules. For the record my comments were made after the print was already sold out and I clearly stated that this was only my opinion and that it was not the opinion of any other .info staff members.

I don't think you should have to explain your position. You have just as much right as anyone else on here to comment on a piece. I think you were spot on. The print is awful. If dran's name wasn't on it they wouldn't be able to give them away. 

there's no need to make this public, if you've done nothing wrong, than no need to wash your dirty laundry in public (unless of course this is to check you were in the right and in turn, shame those who pm'd you), just tell the prescious people to realise how ridiculous they sound

Well said and it was eloquently put. It also made a nice change for a mod to state an opinion that was not completely "ooooh, aren't POW fab, and everything they do is great" (not that Mods write this, but when Silky adopts a negative stance he couches it in lots of smily faces etc

I do not understand one thing ... why the negative comments comes only after the print has been published and not before? From a month ago it was understood that the image would been "price crash" .. As from now is also clear what will be the subject for the escif' and invader's prints. I hope the negative comments come before and not after again, or not comes at all, since the print' images are already know from now.
