WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by caswellbay on Nov 1, 2007 0:19:33 GMT 1, Personally I love this piece and would happily pay 520 for it, however mrs bay thinks it's scarey and wouldn't give it wall space.

WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by caswellbay on Nov 1, 2007 0:27:40 GMT 1, Trying to stay on her good side at the mo. Spent the last week attempting to control her half term pre-christmas spending spree by claiming near bankruptcy, and then had to own up to chucking 400 quid on the old plastic for a coloured trollies. Fortunately she really likes it, otherwise I'd be singing soprano rather than my usual deep welsh bass/baritone.

WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by Deleted on Nov 1, 2007 0:42:29 GMT 1, As a newly married man I can empathize. In order for me to keep my Micallefs, Failes, David Choes, and Mark Ryden original, I had to buy her an Amy Sol original painting. I personally think while it's "pretty", it doesn't really say anything...but like caswellbay said, buying something for the mrs. that she likes is the way to go.

...I spend a lot of time in there. Hey, I'm a bit of a perv, what can I say?

WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by slowmo on Nov 1, 2007 9:37:03 GMT 1, Having got my GIWTBB I have to admit, I'm unimpressed by the printing . Its very digital and grainy, the image is good, but the repro has left me cold.
As such it is pretty unlikely it will ever end up on my wall, disappointing really as like I said, the image is very good. Just you can really see the half tones in it too much for my liking.

I have to agree with you, the screen is very course (bit like newspaper print) but because it's so big you'll be viewing it from further away, therefore it probably won't be as noticeable on the wall as it is now under close inspection.

WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by corblimeylimey on Nov 1, 2007 10:00:10 GMT 1, I haven't seen a JD in the flesh.
In the trade the size of the dot is down to what we call screen ruling, that is to say courseness of screening, normally it's measured in dots per inch, magazines & postcards etc are printed at about 150 - 175 screen, newspapers 65 - 100, if you've got a magnifing glass and a ruler just count how many dots in a linear inch to find the screen ruling.

WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by wonkeydonkey on Nov 1, 2007 10:19:40 GMT 1, I think that one of the reasons these are cheap at the moment is that they took about an hour to sell out, so people were able to buy multiple copies if they got people to buy for them. I'm sure as more of this liquid stock finds more permanent homes prices will begin to rise again. This is bound to be the peak of selling (a bottom of the price range), with people needing to fund a new Banksy purchase, the prints having been sent out recently (so not in frames yet) and Christmas coming up.
As someone mentioned earlier, this is the same sized release as flags, so i would expect in the future to see about 1 or 2 on the bay at any one time. When this is the case, i would expect it to be nearer the four figure mark (largely due to the fact that it is signed and a strong image). If the same type of time period passes that passed between the last releases by both Banksy and Micallef, in 4-5 months time people will be kicking themselves for not getting them now.
I am lucky enough to have got a GIWTBB and a new colour trolleys and while they are big editions, they won't be going anywhere near ebay, so that cuts it the potential market down by 1 of each!

WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING/OFFERING THEIR GIWTBB?, by delpipero on Nov 1, 2007 10:52:31 GMT 1, my wife has no idea how many prints i've bought - i have a whole d-face and insect cache that she has no idea about. she would go bloody mental, especially as we are about to move house
i think prints are Panini stickers for adults - 'got, got, neeeeeeed!'
