Spurs -vs- Arsenal, by Zippy on Dec 2, 2018 20:25:53 GMT 1, Had an amazing time today. Son came back from Uni for the game (and feeding) so great that footy brings him home.
First half we started strong. Controlled the game and deservedly went 1 up. Spurs upped their game and scored 2 in a few mins so felt gutted at half time. I did not think we deserved to be losing. But football is like that. And london derbyโs even more so.
Then we saw the new Arsenal. Wenger would have waited until 5 mins to go before making changes. But Emery gave them a rocket at half time. Immediately made changes and game on. Loved the 2nd half and we thoroughly deserved to win. The fans reacted well to Emery. There was passion and atmosphere.
โWe have our Arsenal backโ. Credit to Emery for not getting involved with Ozil. You play his way (get back and defend) and if you dont, he does not pick you. Simples.
Must also mention Aubamayang who does not always start. He does not moan and is now PL top scorer.
And Torrerira. The 5ft terrier. Calm, physical and got his first goal today.
Man U(re) weds night and Spurs back in the Cup in 2 weeks. Will be a totally different game as Emery will play the younger squad members.
Ive spent a bit of time in the US over the past 6 months and been to Hockey, Soccer and American football. None had the passion of a Premiership game like today. And the 49โers cost me $250 face value. Basketball i was quoted over $300 so did not bother.
