Advice on purchase, by tab1 on Mar 6, 2013 23:36:00 GMT 1, I have bought two prints from a gallery . They arrived damaged , prints placed in a tube with no tissue paper at ends or wrapped in a larger sheet of stiff paper
The tube arrived slightly crushed.
Arrived with heavy end damage / creases to the end of both prints and middle.
Informed gallery , bit of back and forth with emails , explained for them to log a claim with their couriers.
I supplied parcel force with documentation and pictures of damage.
The Gallery sent a email last month confirming they were receiving a refund from their couriers that it had been authorised. Also confirmed from parcelforce.
Ive waited a week extra now and they are now asking me to wait an extra week .
This process has been going on over a month and I have been very patient often waiting three to four days on responses to all emails.
I have all emails logged.
What course of action should I take
Thanks in advance.

Advice on purchase, by tab1 on Mar 6, 2013 23:54:05 GMT 1, I will if no response by next week , I will honour their last email but seems they are dragging it out now.
They have the refund plus I paid a commision to them for the purchase and had heavy import duties , really out of pocket at the mo :-(

Advice on purchase, by twist65 on Mar 6, 2013 23:59:27 GMT 1, parcel companies / couriers do take ages with these things, but that is the gallery/sellers probem not yours as they contracted the courier not you. I've had this problem at work a few times with parcels getting damaged in transit through no fault of our own and had to replace the order straight away, waiting weeks and sometimes months for the damaged parcel claim to come through..
Also the gallery at fault for not protecting the contents of the parcel sufficiently. If you are after a refund not a replacement, then they should do this straight away, not have you wait until they sort their claim out. Equally if you're after a replacement they should do this straight away too. At the end of the day you paid them for some goods which they either need to deliver on or refund you. So if you're losing patience and paid by credit card less than a month ago then I would cancel the payment on grounds that the order was unfulfilled, and let the gallery worry about the rest from there.
