I agree easy pass because of his feedback. That eluded me when I first got the email. Good value or not there is huge demand for his prints and at the original 1700 price it was listed at it could have been a steal. Wouldnt put that sort of money into a giclee myself either

Giclees are fine when they're priced in the $100-$200 range. But spending thousands of dollars on an ink jet print is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. At that point, I'd much rather buy an original from a lesser known artist.

I wouldn't say it's impossible to screen print Conor Harrington's work, just much more difficult. I've seen 100+ color screen prints that looked very near to originals.

While I normally hate CMYK screen prints, BLK/MRKT actually did an excellent job with the Worm in the Suburban Bud and Trapped by Language prints.

The problem with a lot of the giclees is that they appears a bit flat. But the same can be said about acrylic paint vs oil paint. I think giclee is the future, they just have to up the quality (the Conor giclee's are really impressive).

Oh and if you don't like printouts never look at the art of Julian Opie, even his originals are glorified giclees (inkjet print on canvas).

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that Fight Club is worth £1,700, never mind £2,300! The hype on this forum is nearing unbearable at the moment.

While I do understand the giclee argument being made, its the only way for many(most) to enjoy Harringtons work on their walls.
Im a big fan but originally passed on Tardis due to the price. I too thought it was a bit much for a giclee. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop wanting the image in my collection. I definitely couldn't afford an original of his so the print form is what was available to me. I ended up paying more than original cost and still I think I got a great deal every time I look at it on my wall.
Sure, originals from other artists can be had for what his prints sell for...but isn't art about what the viewer appreciates? Its not always about monetary value or hype.

you're right, Winston, but people sitting on these prints might still be tempted to hype up the value, irrespective of how his original prices are doing.

I think you could probably get a Morning Glory (already framed) for the same price as some of the gallery fight club prices + framing

Hi all, I was actually the seller of this print. I am not very active on the forums but I have been a member since 2012- I mostly just buy here (due to the consistent anti-print trolling...as seen in this thread). Although the print is sold, I just wanted to clear up the things that people were saying about me regarding possibly being a shady character.  There is a lack of feedback on my account purely because it turns out that most art buyers prefer to negotiate offline these days, and the one bad mark is because the fellow did not pay for the item he purchased...I am not sure why he was upset that he didn't receive it.
 
I know that sellers are usually "penalized" for not selling on the forum here, but I did want to clear up that this sale was indeed completely legit.  I am glad that the print found a new home rather than alongside my collection in storage.  The only reason I am positing this is because I do buy and sell quite a bit, and I prefer not to have my name smudged.
