FAILE - Blind Stamp on older prints?, by vinzc on Apr 12, 2013 15:06:46 GMT 1, Quick Question - I recently purchased an 06 Faile print in the secondary market, and it arrived without the blind stamp. Before I assume anything, in 06 and prior, does anyone know if all of their prints had the Faile dog stamp?
The buyer forwarded along the the original paypal receipt to faile on the date it was purchased, so that gives me a higher level of comfort...but I do have other Faile prints from 06 with the stamp...wasnt sure if those 06 prints with the stamp were released later in the year (perhaps when a more formalized process was put in place?). I have emailed Faile, but I have not received any reply as of yet.
I know it might be a difficult question to answer without first knowing the print, or the individual that sold it to me...but I didnt want to potentially give any bad press to anyone before I had more information available.
Any thoughts?

I don't know about 06 prints from faile, but I've seen a few different blind stamp from them, they don't use the same everytime, for example they've made some print for a UK gallery/show (I don't really know ^^) where you could see the dog and "FAILE UK" on it.
So I will not be surprise to see some earlier print without any blind stamps!

I wouldn't worry about it too much, a while back I bought a 2006 Mermaid from a forum member – when it arrived, I notice it didn't come with a dog stamp. It also came with the original paypal receipt and a copy of the original purchasers email chain.
Like you, I took a couple of pics and sent them to Faile – after about two weeks, I heard back and was told that it was indeed "legit". I asked about the missing stamp, to be told that some prints went out unstamped (accidentally) or that it could even pre-date stamping!
Anyhow, I'm sure you'll back from them at some point.
