What to do Miami...., by Deleted on Apr 21, 2013 19:28:57 GMT 1, Hi, I am coming to Miami in July en route to Nicaragua.
I have one night on both ends of my trip - any recommendations on firstly where to stay, where to eat and where to drink.
We will be three blokes, friendly and sociable......in need of some inside knowledge.

Theres a great diner just down the road on Collins Avenue - Jerrys Famous Deli. If you're skint from the staying at the Delano, it's very reasonable and totally worth it

What to do Miami...., by chichi carter on Apr 21, 2013 20:54:25 GMT 1, A cheaper option in South Beach would be The Catalina Hotel, which is pretty much right across the street from the Delano. Not nearly as fancy as the Delano but alright if you're just staying one night. They have a bus shuttle which can pick you up or drop you off at the airport. They're not directly on the beach but they do have a beach club. www.catalinahotel.com/ So you just have to grab a couple of towels, walk 2 blocks and you'll have lounge chairs waiting for you on the beach, if lounging on the beach is your thing. They also have complimentary bikes (with locks) on a first come first served basis, which is nice to get around quickly. I stayed there a couple of years ago so you might want check their website to confirm they still have all that happening. Maxine's Bistro right next door serves good breakfasts. I second UmBongo regarding Jerry's Famous Deli. I even spotted an Invader sticker on the emergency lights in the men's washroom! Speaking of frenchmen... La Sandwicherie is quite alright if you want to grab a quick bite on the cheap. www.lasandwicherie.com/ That's South Beach in a nut shell... If you want to see some murals and visit some art galleries then Wynwood is where it's at. I've never stayed in that neighbourhood though. A good starting point would be Wynwood Walls thewynwoodwalls.com/ The murals there are quite impressive. You could walk around that neighbourhood for hours. There's a slew of galleries and there's art everywhere you look. Have fun on your trip!

What to do Miami...., by rexxington on Apr 21, 2013 21:15:03 GMT 1, Delano, Shore Club, W Hotel, Setai, Sagamore, SLS all $$$ (Mondrian also good but on the bay and not on the beach). Townhouse is cheaper option, similar to Catalina and all good locations near to Lincoln Road for shops / restaurants. W Hotel / Fontainebleau have decent clubs but go early 10:30-11pm to stand a chance as 3 guys (unless you're getting a table). Otherwise, lots of clubs with friendlier door policies on Washington (off Lincoln Road) and Delano beach bar good place to start. Your hotel concierge should have connections / recommendations depending on the night
