Dodgy Print - Help needed to track down the seller, by craigf on May 9, 2013 9:33:56 GMT 1, Well the great thing about having pest control now is you can check all the prints that you bought back in the day are legit. I have been going through the process of getting all of mine done over the last few months and until yesterday everything was going smoothly......
I bought a framed Monkey Queen back in August 2007. It was framed, had a blind stamp and numbered, all good so far. Seller seemed genuine and we made a deal. I opened the frame up a couple of weeks ago and still seemed ok and I took it to Pest Control. It appears it is a digital print (not even a backdoor one made to look real) so I am rather pissed off
I have checked and the seller is no longer on ebay, but I still have an email address that we corresponded on. I am a technical luddite, but know many of you on here are not so my question is other than just pinging an email to them can I check in advance if that email address is valid, who it is registered to and any other details?
My gut feel is this could be a genuine mistake rather than an intended scam, but either way I want to follow up.
I have found Pest Control really helpful throughout the process of getting my prints verified (I know some people have found it takes a long time) and even my LA prints have been COA'ed (well two so far, one to go). It has been somewhat nerve racking opening up some of the pieces I have bought already framed, a few horror stories with the over use of tape, lack of UV glass etc. which have made me even more cautious re buying anything that is in a frame already without knowing by whom and how it has been framed. I've still a few prints to get photographed and submitted, fingers crossed there won't be any more issues...

Google it too if you already havnt, it may come up somewhere.

Dodgy Print - Help needed to track down the seller, by balibob on May 9, 2013 9:45:37 GMT 1, Let me guess on the LA print still outstanding, Applause?
Good luck on your hunt, I'm sure some of the smarter peeps on here will know how to trace the account.

Dodgy Print - Help needed to track down the seller, by craigf on May 9, 2013 10:29:34 GMT 1, Thanks for the facebook idea, no luck unfortunately
I had already tried google and it fell over. The seller was getting married so my guess is they use their married name now which is going to make the search harder

Dodgy Print - Help needed to track down the seller, by tartarus on May 9, 2013 10:48:10 GMT 1, Might be worth putting the old ebay account on here in case anyone had bought from them. Someone may have more info than you do. I dont think thats too harsh on them as the account is now closed.

Thank you for all the PM's and offers of help, there is a super sleuth on the case.....

The seller was getting married so my guess is they use their married name now which is going to make the search harder From this statement it's a high probability that the seller is female. Not much gets past me!
