Cleaning a Canvas - Any tips?, by Trevorm on May 10, 2013 10:38:24 GMT 1, I picked up an early Sickboy canvas on the bay last month.
It wasn't a lot of money - but it is 'grubby' and there are a couple of faint stains, on the predominantly grey background that don't look like they were part of the artists intended addition to the piece.
Any ideas, out there, on how I can improve or refresh the piece. It was only £70 (ish) so I'm not in the take along to a restorer mode.
Thanks, Trev

Thanks, Trev Sorry, but thought changing a word ( see above ) would be amusing!
On a serious note, is it worth photographing and sending to the artist as he might be able to confirm what was intended, or not.

Cleaning a Canvas - Any tips?, by Trevorm on May 10, 2013 11:34:53 GMT 1, Cheers mate - thanks for that? especially the part about pics (not sure about grubby underpants tho')
Most of the discolouring looks like the result of handling, so it's cleaning off fingerprints and grime really. Might be a good reason to put yr canvas in a frame first time round.
