Inexpensive way to store larger A0 prints , by thos on Aug 17, 2018 21:46:34 GMT 1, I have been following this thread since I'm in need of storage as well. I'm tired of having sleeves laid out on the ground, so I think I'm going to go with a flat file cabinet.
I would have liked to buy the new one from CB2, but that doesn't have anywhere near enough space inside. Does anyone here (and in the US) have any recommendations?

Would vertical stands be acceptable means of storage? Does anyone use them?

I got acid free paper to put print-paper-print-paper-... but I have an issue, the prints never perfectly flat, they are a bit "undulated" if you know what I mean. Should I put a board in between? If so am I looking for a specific acid free material or any would do because there's a sheet of acid free paper between panel and print?

If you want the prints to actually flatten, but a heavier board inbetween two foamcore sheets. So foamcore, glassine, print, glassine, foamcore, board, foamcore, etc. And if you're not using glassine as your "acid free paper" consider switching to it. That will keep your prints flat and protected.

I usually just pick up acid-free foamcore from my framer and/or local art & supply store (here in the states that would Blick Art Materials). You can sometimes find online framing companies that will sell you what you need. For me here in the states, my go-to is Westfall Frames (https://westfallframing.com)

A good way would be a passepartout that separates one work from the other, all mounted on an acid-free cardboard.
Tape must be also acid free, and you should not abuse, put just a tiny bit so it holds in its place.
Always away from humidity and temperature changes. (that's very important)
The longer stays in the dark, the better.
When exhibit, follow the same rules and add a museum glass. Keep it away from the sun (worse enemy).
Keeping it under the bed with plastic sleeves, mdf and other things that are not archival will damage the works 100% sure.

I am looking to buy some of the brown paper that's usually on the back side of the print. What is its name?
Any online seller in Europe to suggest?
Does it have to be specific characteristics as, for example, being acid free?

And because I keep dedicating the funds to more purchases instead of proper framing.
Is it ok to leave the prints packed flat as they arrived from the printshop or gallery (like in a PrintPak) for a prolonged period of time? They are each wrapped in glassine and flat packed. Or is it better for the work to take them out of the packaging and store them in sleeves or something?

Have you tried contacting them? I remember they took preorders for the portfolio and would post out several times a year. It might be worth enquiring. Mine took a long time to arrive but was well worth the price and the wait.
