New Mr Brainwash just kidding, by New Art Editions on Jun 7, 2013 10:45:25 GMT 1, All sold out even the $9k variants Yeah, but sold out, as in "sold out"? Or sold out, as in "Hirst sold out"? 'Sold Out' as in "Not Sold Out' There are still 2 available.
And today's 2nd brainbreaker: what's the difference between 'unavailable' and 'sold out' ?

I wouldnt fork out money for his stuff of course.Hes having a big belly laugh, but not in a cyncial way - he knows the joke, but Im afraid most of his purchasers miss it.
My big idea is to capitalise on on the print bubble by creating a transparent quoted weighted index of art values based on acution results, allowing portfolios to be hedged and losses mitigated , but also to take a punt on price movements and voltility- I would be short Brainwsh, Dolk and to a lesser extent,Banksy at the minute. ยฃ7K for a CYW or Nola ? bloody hell.Sell Sell Sell. for that type of money you could get an original Bomberg.
if anyone wants to supply the ยฃ backing for this project, mail me.
LOL ROFL etc

New Mr Brainwash just kidding, by Hairbland on Jun 7, 2013 13:33:20 GMT 1, I've yet to see anything of his that is appealing. I was hanging in Los Angeles in December with some entertainment types, ended up at one of their homes, and knowing I was into art they quickly and proudly pointed out their MBW piece. Of course I was polite...I was drinking their wine...but Entertainment Types in LA kinda says it all for me.

New Mr Brainwash just kidding, by Wearology on Jun 7, 2013 14:50:19 GMT 1, I was in a very well known gallery in NYC yesterday and they had a few prints hand embellished by MBW for sale. The average price was about $24,000 a piece. In my head I had so many negative thoughts battling for position and than I had to ask myself why his art provokes so much controversy. My 1st thought is that MBW epitomizes an aspect of our scene that many on here have a big issue with. My 2nd thought was jealousy, anger and wonderment. All I could do was think back to that scene in "Exit Through The Gift Shop" when he was being pushed around in that wheel chair while spraying Photoshopped prints and making up prices to that potential customer on the phone. I wonder if we never saw the movie, never heard the history of the artist and he was actually anonymous would we even discuss his art on here?

Genius! Its what we do on this forum all day long!

Genius! Its what we do on this forum all day long! Maybe over thinking things a little, it's just really so far down the quality threshold of what is available elsewhere for a similar price for both urban and contemporary art. It's just bad work, plain and simple. What gets people's backs up is that it reflects negatively across a scene we hold dear. MBW, Bambi, Rich Simmons, Blu, Jose Parla, Barry McGee.. there is a difference. MBW's pro PR companies throw money at the difference and for a vast majority not engaged in the culture, the gap gets closed. Ultimately, the mainstream perception of Street Art becomes dominated by the idea that it's produced by vacuous, fame obsessed clowns. Cultural hegemony perpetuated by the rich (or at least those that can afford PR companies)..it's the opposite of streetart. Fuck em.

Why don't you show us a picture of what you actually like (not on google, just from your walls...) so that me rubbish forumite eventually discover a bit what's "real" art according to an expert like you ? To be completely honest, when I posted the picture I didn't expect any "approval" from you...I knew you had made up your mind well before even seeing any other pictures ;-) Peace

His works thoughtless and untalented, he rips of other artists left right and center, he's unskilled and driven by money and fame, if it wasn't for his loose association to Banksy by pure chance, he'd be a nobody, plain and simple.

"to each his own" but I think you give him far too much credit : one single "fake artist" to be able to "ruin an amazing scene" just by himself ? Waouhhh, that must require SOME talent after all ! ;-) Take care
