I think some people buy his work because;
1) They love the work. 2) He's an infectious character. 3) Some of it is fun. 4) It might be a nice investment. 5) If Banksy is later revealed to be involved, then the aesthetic and financial value will improve. 6) Nearly ever artist that has worked with Banksy goes on to enjoy some of the hype that surrounds him/her. 7) I have nothing for 7.

yeah i'm sure there are plenty thinking (or hoping) it's banksy pulling the strings even at this late stage but i'd be shocked if that was the case. crosses too far into the line of making actual victims out of people
