Moving Art Across Country / Insurance, by vinzc on Jun 5, 2013 16:39:05 GMT 1, Hi all.
Im located in the States, moving from NYC to Houston. I have many of my prints already down in Houston, but because I have been so reticent to move my OGs (the likes of fragile/delicate pieces on found driftwood/other objects, framed OG's and prints), I have never actually moved them down...and now I need to.
For some reason, because part of the move is associated with a storage unit, an outside insurance company wont write an insurance policy on the art (let alone the contents of the move), even though they are unrelated.
Anyone know how best to transport this stuff safely with insurance, aside from me driving it across the country myself? While I am sure UK specifics are different, perhaps some of you have had experience with this on how best to transport a fairly mini-collection of art/frames without a tremendous shipping cost?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and best, Vinny
