One of the biggest early moral dilemmas was to allow or not allow commerce between forum members to be conducted through .info.
The arguments on both sides were very convincing. The real issue is it seems recently that people who know more about money than art are seeing that stolen uncertified walls by anonymous street artists are fetching 1.1 million dollars at auction and are salivating at the opportunity to get it on the supposed art gold rush of the 21st century. The forum is still a great place to lurk, participate, buy & sell but it does seem that a bunch of 1st time posters are only focused on sales and the potential financial benefits that our community may bring "Caveat Emptor".

If a gallery wants to buy and someone wants to sell then its not a problem.. That said they do try and take the piss with there buy low sell high prices, but they tend to get forum justice in the form of posts spamming there threads.

I don't think UAA needs to "child proof" selling and buying since any reasonable person can see the general market price for what they are after. If anything making such restrictions just limits the availability of pieces for sale IMO.

I for one bought a Queen Vic canvas for ยฃ200 that i thought was genuine, only to find through that site that it was a knock off. 'Flipping' wasn't really an issue back then as there wasn't a lot of profit in it! The first time a banksy print sold for ยฃ1000 was met with complete disbelief.
This site has always been a far more overtly commercial offshoot of that site, whereas most of the ebay forum members gravitated to Wallkandy, which has obviously now closed down.

Haha.. Been living past 10yrs in Sydney, love the beaches but yes miss the fields mate and the sheep are more aggressive over here, probably the heat!!!
Apologise if going over old ground? It may be more work for the mods, but is it possible to keep the for sales posts permanently in the 'art for sale'section? Or is it too hard? So these posts don't appear on the recent posts section. Then it's up to person if they want to view what's for sale in the art for sale section. Could do the same thing for 'art wanted' also..
