Hanging prints framed, by johann on Jun 15, 2013 16:27:42 GMT 1, Hi all First of all, my appologize for the crappy english.
I'm sure this has already been discussed before but couldn't find the appropriate thread.
I have a couple of prints which I made framed few weeks ago and I m unsure yet on how to fix them on the wall. I will probably leave my appartment in 1 year so the only thing I know is that I dont want something to "radical" for the walls (I m the tenant)
What kind of fixations would you recommand : - Doing holes on the wall - Without holes
I tried this kind of stuff before but it does not sounds like a good idea for prints which can be heavy:
Most of my prints are about this size :
But I also have larger ones which might require stronger fixations :
I saw someone posting this photo (so this one is not mine unfortunately ! I hope the owner of this canva wont mind if I post it) with fixation on the side and not the back, can this be added easily to a frame ?
Any tips for this would be appreciated !

Hanging prints framed, by Feral Things on Jun 15, 2013 19:54:08 GMT 1, I would avoid 'sticking' the frames to the wall. There's a good chance that the sticky stuff will gives way after a couple of months and if it does it would make a real mess of the frame and print.
It might be worth asking your landlord if they would accept putting a few picture hook; they might be fine with it. Alternatively, I'd put up picture hooks and when you leave just remove the hooks, fill the holes with fine surface filler, sand it when dry and paint over the filler.
Oh, and I can guarantee that your English is 100 times better than my German, French or whatever's your first language.

Hanging prints framed, by Gard on Jun 15, 2013 20:09:15 GMT 1, These are amazing, but I don't think you can get them in England. It's a Norwegian framer that has the patent on them so they won't sell them to other then framers I think. Check with your local framer and maybe they got them.

Thanks all for the advises, I will have a look at all of this and will certainly discuss with my local framer for his recommendation. I do not think this will be a problem for my landlord if I put some hooks so I will probably go into this direction

This is simple makes hole in wall but as mentioned when you leave just put filler in hole then sand paper over and bit of paint and done. Wall paper is a problem but if a painted wall this is easy and takes serious weight. Landlord will be fine with this
