What's with all the big money DOLK wanted , by Deleted on Jun 16, 2013 14:28:43 GMT 1, ALL WHITE NOISE. BIG MONEY AS PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN BECOME MILLIONAIRES BUYING DOLK'S TRITE TRIPE, TO SELL ON AT A LATER DATE TO OTHERS. AND SO IT GOES ON UNTIL NEXT EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES APPEARS. ARTIST & PRINTERS ABUSING THIS NEEDY GRAB FOR CASH. IS THAT RIGHT OR WRONG? IS IT FAIR THAT ARTIST SHOULD MISS OUT ON CASH BONANZA? IS THAT WHY AN ARTIST PRODUCES ART? IN 50 YEARS TIME WILL PEOPLE REALLY REMEMBER THE BURGER-KING DOG AS A MASTERPIECE OF NORWEGIAN STREET INFLUENCED ART? THIS IS ART THAT THAT IT'S FANS DESERVE, AND THE MORE THEY WANT TO PAY FOR IT THE BIGGER MUGS THEY REALLY ARE. Oi!. BUY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD IF YOU LIKES IT BUT NOT IF YOU CANT AND DONT.

What's with all the big money DOLK wanted , by Deleted on Jun 16, 2013 14:31:29 GMT 1, ...and now we enter two distinctly different conversations. 1. Is Dolk a good artist? 2.Is his work a good investment? On the subject of 1. I would say yes, conceptually he's created a number of pieces over the years, with an undoubted depth plenty of other so called street artists have spectacularly failed to do so. Not least in recent years taking an undoubted pot shot at his collectors that they totally missed (toy), to cannily remarking on the development of street art and himself that again was missed by most (evolution). On the subject of 2. safe to say, that those who say it is a worthy investment have a reason to do so, whilst those who don't, simply do not like his work. Objectively? Well, if there's been a rise, it probably happened a couple of years ago and has seemingly settled, those wishing for gain are probably barking up the wrong tree unless of course some more rich collectors decide to jump into the market. But that does not seem to be happening on any great scale. are you the only person that spotted all these hidden meanings then
Stating 'by most' would seem to signpost that I'm not the only one, nor do I consider them 'hidden meanings' by any sense, so I'm missing your point unless it was simply to imply I was trying to position myself above this debate, which in essence I was, so well done.

I think that Deputy Da.......oops sorry 'Bad Robot' is right in saying that Dolk does often hide meanings in his pictures. However Dolk himself keeps these a secret so I guess you can put any meaning you like to them.

Got a link? I'm bemused to think any artist has that sort of authority.

What's with all the big money DOLK wanted , by Daniel Silk on Jun 17, 2013 5:45:40 GMT 1, I really think Dolk is one of the very best Artists around over the last few years, and the interest being shown in people wanting to buy his work is just a sign of his growing popularity. So many artists have not really produced enough work to keep up with the growing demand in street and urban art, but Dolk has taken advantage of the situation and continued to release great pieces and build on his position in the scene.
