Visiting Paris, by victorwilliams on Jul 3, 2013 13:05:06 GMT 1, As the title states I'm off to Paris in September on vacation for a week. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or advise regarding the best places eat, drink, hang out, party, relax? Any especially cool areas or places with a high number of street works?
just thought I'd ask, I asked the same questions when I headed to NYC in 2010 and you guys were really helpful.
Thanks in advance Edd

Visiting Paris, by jusdeep on Jul 3, 2013 14:23:54 GMT 1, Try this place for sure: www.lecomptoirgeneral.com/en On Quai de Jammapes/Canal St. Martin, was taken there by friends. One of those places you'd never know was there unless you're in the know.
There's also an amazing book shop on the canal, well worth having a look. Design bookstore (Artazart).
Agnes B bookshop and Gallerie du Jour out through the back of the shop. Always has something interesting on.

Visiting Paris, by Feral Things on Jul 3, 2013 20:07:50 GMT 1, I love Paris and, personally, I didn't think that any of the well known places (La Basilique du Sacré Coeur, Musée d'Orsay, the catacombs, Père Lachaise Cemetery etc.) disappointed. The street art seemed to be pretty evenly spread out and there was lots of great stuff in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th 12th - it's a great city to explore. I'm sure some of the Parisian forum members can give you much better advice but my personal favourite places were...
Du Pain et Des Idées - for the baked goods
Pierre Hermé - for the vanilla tart and the macaroons
Maison Berthillon - for icecream
Vitry Sur Seine - for the street art, especially C215
Galerie le Feuvre - for the contemporary art
Here's a few pieces to whet your appetite:
Hope you have a great time!
