I've mentioned this before about a friend of mine that collects Stone Island jackets and Adidas trainers. The forums he uses doesn't allow sales from members from under 12 month members and flipping stuff is a massive no go. I did frown the other day regarding this when a member posted about selling his new Eelus print after getting into debt? Am I the only one to notice a huge increase of one star members on here to sell stuff... Surely not.

Sorry to hear about the situation E. Hopefully you get things somewhat sorted with him (ie. reduction in purchase price).

I think EB also has a 6 month rule before being allowed to sell anything. Obviously, this isn't going to weed out everyone, but could help. Hopefully these are not existing members setting up new accounts to realize a few extra dollars on sales.

it is a shame this stuff happens but when ever money is involved its got to be expected to some degree.

. Insured and signed for delivery.
. Payment via Paypal (goods or services) backed by c/c
. Retain all correspondence regarding transaction
. Listen to your inner self. I really cant see how you could go wrong? I have had 3 issues regarding damage all 3 sorted fairly quickly and on the last one when the postal service said no and paypal said no my c/c issuer refunded the money. Always good to go and talk to your local bank that issues your cards and have a chat it really can make a difference if the first to ports of call say no.
Again sorry this has happened but hopefully this will help others in the future.

one thing is that normal people online selling prints wont always know how to handle them without getting a few creases sometimes

Unless everyone had to register with a credit \ debit card you cannot guarantee anyone is who they say they are - or guarantee any one person isn't using multiple accounts for the wrong reasons.

If we went down that route then we start moving towards a paid membership scenario (we are now sailing close to the spoof Paid membership thread i read with some amusement yesterday)

I particularly enjoy the fact that on the whole this is a self-policing community - there are the odd bans handed out by the mods but generally it is us members that rally round and decide what is and isn't acceptable behaviour on here.

Acceptable behaviour isn't just about stopping the scammers and trolls etc it is also about educating ourselves and others to be diligent when making purchases - if the perception is that we are so desperate for the next fix of art we throw money around like water then yes, we are inviting scammers to queue up and chance their arm

If people took the time to research and validate their seller instead of panicking that someone else might beat them to 'the deal of the century' then perhaps we would see a drop in the suspect sales threads and scammers looking to take advantage

BTW - by the very fact the buyer created a 'disposable id' suggests to me they are already a member on here but didn't want to damage their known reputation for selling damaged goods

There has to be a certain amount of trust by the buyer despite what people say,he lied and let you down and thats that,he even knew it was creased!. I will get my mate Mad Margaret from Crewe onto it,shes brilliant at leaving no bruises.

It's always a gamble to deal on here,you just have to trust your instinct,I have just completed a swap with ottomatic71, it was my first trade on here and I suppose it takes both sides to trust each other,the prints were worth a pretty penny and the trade went really well, so we newbies are not all bad,

what does the print look like then? how bad are the creases?
