Going in my little boys room as he loves our others and currently sleeps with the light on, so this may help us sort that out too!

Thanks for such a detailed opinion, very interested to read why people would/wouldn't buy. I had opportunities to buy the Miami/Paris tiled books, but they were many thousands of dollars and just too expensive. If I had the readies, no mortgage, better salary, I would have bought one in a second. I was disappointed to miss the POW space prints, which influenced my decision here. Also it's difficult in the Australian timezone to score anything, another reason to jump. I purchased IK14 last year, and was taken aback by the price then. Luckily now I'm on a (tiny) bit more coin (and am about to get my tax refund), so I can justify it. But you're right, shockingly expensive. Could you link me to the other discussion about it? I didn't see anything when I started the thread. Also interested to see the discussion about staggered releasing/timezones etc. Cheers!

Especially when they say "sold out", or "only __ (insert low number) left", etc...For instance, this Invader, it supposedly sold out in the first 10 seconds (if you are to believe the sale site. But, I just was able to cart one a second before typing this. I know people cart stuff and then don't buy. But, there's no way that is responsible for all of the b.s. we go through when trying to buy from these types of releases. Obviously, the harder they make something to get, and more elusive the illusion is, the more people will want to buy the item. Creating that artificial competition, the thought that you are getting something so many other people are trying to get, and finally making a person think "wow, i just won!" after they've clicked refresh a 100 times and a piece magically appears, plays serious tricks on a potential buyers brain. I know it has for me. I've found myself buying pieces I would have never bought had I stepped away and thought about it for a second. Sorry for the long winded bit of b.s. on your post, but I just needed to vent. I was hoping this piece was going to be in line with some of the other invader kits, small prints, etc...I mean, an ed. of 200, a piece that's not designed at all to be displayed, an awkward signature location, etc, etc...you don't think it is going to be around 1000 USD when all is said and done. That's crazy money. I love Invader, and have a lot of his work. But, I don't like him raising the release price like this, and creating this artificial buzz. Its not like he is that much more in demand to warrant such a large price hike. I guess I just don't like getting so obviously screwed. And this whole thing left me feeling more screwed than usual, and that's saying something. That's why I didn't pull the trigger. I will probably regret it though when I don't have this piece to add to the Invasion collection I have going.

It is just sad that for about $50 I could create this and have more enjoyment out of it by putting it on my wall rather than buying one for $1000 and putting it in a drawer and being scared to do anything with it. You break the seal on this one and you have more money than sense. $950 for a signature and wrapper... Kudos to Space Invader.
On a side note, if anyone in LA wants to go in with me and buy some glow tiles, it takes just over 1 sheet of tiles so we could split one package... see here rebeltiles.com/glowtiles.html. Each sheet is $15

Wake up man ! Most of the prints/OG that we have cost a few bucks to produce... if you wanna save money, don't collect art !
