A Levels/GCSEs, by Hubble Bubble on Aug 22, 2013 19:53:02 GMT 1, Had a double whammy in the HB household over the last week.
Eldest daughter secured a place at her first choice - Sheffield Uni, to read English Literature.
Youngest daughter passed 10 GCSEs and goes into 6th Form to take A Levels in English Lit, Drama, Sociology and History.
Can you tell we're not a science household?
Hope any other forumites with results incoming have got what they wanted!

They're there for the taking, and what is Milliband doing?

Reckon he could end up a labour politician! Good coach'n coach. Labour, Cons, Lib Dems are pretty much the same thing. I hope there'll be a credible alternative he can get involved with when he's ready to and then do some real good.

A Levels/GCSEs, by Hubble Bubble on Aug 23, 2013 8:11:46 GMT 1, Nicely, Coach... congrats to your lad. Make sure he keeps his foot on the gas in lower 6th (or Year 12 as it's now known)... eldest daughter was all A* and A at GCSE but made a bit of a horlicks of A/S levels (by her high standards), needing to re sit etc to bring A level grades back up. There's a big shift from GCSE to A/S.
And yes... I get tons of vicarious pleasure from my kids' success (and experiences). But still not beyond living a bit myself.
As Sir Thomas Beecham once said, "A man should try everything once, except for incest and morris dancing"

A Levels/GCSEs, by kel on Aug 23, 2013 12:28:34 GMT 1, Congrats Hubble great news and that your daughter gets her first choice University as well.
Great news as well Coach.
Too many knock the education system but you will always get out of it what you put in. Unless when they were on strike like they were for me in my last 3 years. Oh the good old 80's.
