Painted using Harrods acrylic aged in fine oak barrels previously used to store premium cognac and spray paint that was mixed and canned by Taki 183 in the original Krylon factory and sprayed using only the finest 24k gold caps.

These are the outcome of blending collage and painting techniques, something I've played with for a while. I approached them as I would any abstract work, by building layers and going by my own sense of what works compositionally and aesthetically. A mix of rough spraying as the fill and controlled stencil sections to create the forms. Surrounded by a solid ground colour to establish a familiar, print-like feel which completes the overall look. I've shown them too friends and they've seen things like mechanical flies, CCTV cameras and futuristic weapons.. what do you see? Let me know what you think (or just "like"!) Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks, MMB.

I first posted my work on here in 2013 through 'til April 2015 and I'm still massively appreciative of the way it was received and hope everyone who purchased work from me is still enjoying it!
I've not stopped painting this whole time and I've just posted a back-log of work on my tumblr (maxbeales.tumblr.com) which I hope shows the progress and changes in my work and it's recurring themes, colours and techniques. Let me know if you dig'em!
They're original works using Acrylic and Spray Paint on paper. Created using a combination of techniques to create forms and structural compositions with the main focus being colour. They take roughly two days to paint depending on the piece. I wanna get a lil' time-lapse video out soon to show you'z how I work.
(It's very hard to get a good photograph to represent the work, I wish you could see them in the flesh!)

Spent a while making prototypes/versions of these card bot/figures, I think they're finally at a place where I'd be willing to let them go in to the world ha!
These six are Series 1
Standing at just under 6", made from heavy paper, wire, tape, glue and spray paint/stencil'd.
They take around 5hrs to make.
Might seem fragile but they're pretty sturdy (they look really cool in those smaller IKEA bell jar things)
If you dig 'em/would like more photos/anything else, let me know, gimme a message.

These robots look as if they fit in an urban setting. Remind me of hip hop heads or B-Boys.

Our next exhibition is โRadiantโ - a compilation of small works by artists who have previously exhibited at That Art Gallery along with a few new faces.
In honour and celebration of the season of goodwill, weโre NOT going to host an opening preview or spend any money promoting this exhibitionโฆ instead weโre going to open at 11am on Friday 7th December and will donate the money (that weโd usually spend on flyers & hospitality) to HELP BRISTOLโS HOMELESS a Bristol based non-profit, social enterprise with a mission to change the face of homelessness in the city.
Artists to include:
Max Beales - Emma Caton - Laurie Cole - Martyn Cross - Pure Evil - Stewart Geddes - Kedals - Angela Lizon - Ruth Piper - Jamie Rawlings - David Shillinglaw - Corinna Spencer - Joe Warrior Walker - Simon Williams
I've got some paintings and paper robots in this exhibition at That Art Gallery in Bristol.
It's located on Christmas Steps, so what better time of year to check the gallery out!
