I am hoping to raise between ยฃ25k and ยฃ30k with a view to buying a Banksy editioned canvas.

You could get lucky in auction, but remember if bidding there will be commission, VAT and potentially artists resale.

It's because of the charges that I'm trying to get hold of one on here. I'm hoping that someone looking to sell will realise that getting ยฃ30k in hand is better realising ยฃ30k-ยฃ35k at auction.
I guess it all kind of hangs on how much something like Lenin will get at auction in today's market. I suppose for a seller to get ยฃ30k in hand they would have to hit ยฃ36-ยฃ39k ish at auction...?

One sold at Bonhams for ยฃ48K (all in) back in 2007 and another one for ยฃ36K same place following year so I guess some collectors are still not "in the money" ;-( Who said prices are NEVER coming down ?!? Last one I've see auctioned was at Bonhams L.A. last October and went for ~ ยฃ28K |
