I love the painting,i would just love to have something like that myself but LOL and I WISH to that,maybe will find one in a local charity shop here that he has un Banksyfied?, IMO would be nice if somehow whoever wins it can display it for public viewing.
Re. the painting, i am sure some media like THE NEW YORK POST or some other well know group being a good and charitable organisation will end up buying this and in so doing making a massive boost to the chairity funds.
Its a good cause.

He asked me a question about what I thought about a stencil artist exploring new mediums and doing oils and I simply said that he has been altering existing oil paintings for years and this is not a progression it's one of his many techniques of painting he uses. Calling me a self proclaimed expert / authority on anything was intentional by the reporter and made me sound like a dik.
The reporter made me sound like a douche. Point being that this auction feels like a false market- eg is a single banksy oil really worth 250k when the size isn't huge and his actual art on it is v small? I could see this going for a huge amount but should someone try and resell it, the 'market' disappear and it go for much less.

i would love to own it, not only for or despite what it is (whatever you feel comfortable with), but what it will bring in debate and interest, and because it marks an incredible occasion and an awe inspiring month of street art by Banksy

In line with this thinking, someone on the Gothamist site has commented repeatedly that if Banksy was a dog his name would be Barksy.
That is what is so wonderful about this project, there are so many ways to initiate conversation.

Cant help but think the nazi is looking at switzerland and thinking of all the gold, with the unfortunate realisation that its going to be staying there. Another representation of greed and another Banksy good deed. Impressive how he makes light out of darkness!

He has his back to us, so we are watching him, and we do so in a way very similar to his view on nature. Nazi-era has become romanticised with all the WW2 collectors and connoisseurs: "They were bad but they had cool uniforms".
