I guess for me it's just that at the moment I can't see what makes this street art stand out from any other street art. It seems to me to be more about the fact that its a Banksy than the actual image itself.
Like I say though, just my humble opinion : )

I thought that the dog and hydrant and his 'My NY accent' were far off what he's capable of and certainly not exactly classic Banksy images. I'm always reading here how he's 'on another level' to the others but he hasn't demonstrated this so far in his show. Ok there's more to come and I did like the No graffiti sign one but overall this has not been as good as I was expecting so far. I know some people can get a bit touchy if anyone criticises Banksy but this is just my opinion. Others may agree and others may not.
I think Banksy is at his best where the placement of his work is as important as the piece itself. Don't think this is going to possible much in this case.
Just think about the scale of this and how ambitious it is. Your mate Dolk had about a dozen canvases in his last show out of which a couple were perhaps ok. This is on a different level all together. Don't give up just yet - sure they're will be much more to come!

There is no other artist in this scene who could pull anything like this off.
My Gawd I've missed the work that this man does and I didn't even realise it.

I'm wondering. Guerrilla op or does Team Banksy have the necessary permits from the mayor's office? It's going to create a traffic nightmare here in the East Village.

This is very contrived (not meant in a bad way) he knows exactly what he is doing he chose Tag Central New York and the placement of the pieces. He chose the city and the environment knowing this. It's about him. They think he is an English dick head mowing their lawn not sure how to say in "my New York accent" It's not 30days of everlasting beautiful pieces it's 31 days of this That's why it's massive and will continue to grow. Discussion, tagging, repair,disappearing, new piece ,press, new press etcetcetc Look at it only day 5 It's quite masterful genius....... Banksy That's why he is Banksy it's ahead of the game Lots of people doing political and pretty picture this is urban media Is this the first exhibition that is being run by social media?

It's more than these pieces that's the art the concept etc. this is something that has never happened and never been seen before. there is better art being shown else where but not better media as it were. Not meant again in a negative way this is about activity, inclusion, there is nothing profound in the art but a lot is profound in how it is being viewed. This is the regal work of genius behind this. I do not use the term genius lightly. What we are seeing now may not event be seen again so enjoy its positives and negatives as they are all part of it magic
