I am not so sure about that, Kofie is really blowing up IMO. Hell I was at the White Walls show here in SF and they sold out everything at very very high marks. I believe there was only one piece left but it may have sold already. I am not trying to prop this up for the OP I just happen to love Kofie and see him rising a ton lately and will continue to do so IMHO.

Re the price - I tried to price it in line with his recent shows.
At the show in Paris in May, 19 x 19 inch pieces were โฌ1350 and all sold out.
At the recent White Walls show, the 19 x 19 inch pieces were US$1700, but they were more basic painted pieces, without the collage elements. They all sold out too.
And IMO, this is a stronger piece than any of those ones.
