New Faile Print – Dec. 3, by randomname on Nov 25, 2013 22:35:18 GMT 1, We are also excited to share the print we will be releasing in the next week. One of our favorites from the ballet series as a large format block-style print. As many of you know these are really intensive prints to create and it’s turned out beautifully. We’ll be doing this as a lottery release via store.faile.net
The print will be open to register for on Dec. 1st – 2nd. We will close it on the evening of the 2nd and begin contacting those who entered the lottery on the morning of the 3rd. This will be conducted like a normal lottery release. We will send an email out with additional details and links on Monday morning the 2nd. The print should arrive to you by the 18th of December.

The large edition size only hurts people looking to turn them for a profit. I don't think most collectors who want them for their wall care that much how exclusive it is. Failes are numbered on the back anyway. So no one looking at it will even know the edition size.

The first Ballets print is still trading north of issue price.
Personally, I think this is a stronger image, though the purple pastels might not be for everyone.
These big block prints look killer on the wall, but when you get a quote from the framer I can understand the temptation to flip for a $100 profit.
For those interested, I got an great looking archival frame for the first print from www.americanframe.com/ for around $220.

I want to like it but I just don't which makes me sad. I think it's graphically strong, but it doesn't have the kitschy drama that Faile is known for. It's makes it feel somewhat cold and uncharacteristic. More 30's art deco than 40-50s pulp imagery. |
