Paper Monster is very pleased to announce the release of Swoon's Kamayaura Edition Variant artworks. "While traveling in Brazil in 2011 I created this portrait from a Kamayura community that is fighting the Brazilian government's attempts to dam their rivers and destroy their ecosystems and way of life. The struggle continues." These EV* edition variants are created using a variety of handmade, found, repurposed, and salvaged materials. They are delicate works and and are extremely intricate, featuring screened and block printed elements, fine paper cut-outs, collage and paper layering, in addition to lots of hand painted finishing. This is the third Edition Variant release we have worked on with Swoon and it truly demonstrates her ability to transform a print edition into unique works of art.
