OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by FЯ on Feb 15, 2014 22:12:39 GMT 1, There is no way on earth we are going to found out who is behind this. It wouldn't be of benefit to them to come out they just had a sold out print run . Outis will keep this going on the premise people might think he's banksy coz that's what he wants how he will achieve sold out runs. Sent from my C5303 using proboards Have to agree. The minute the illusion is ruined its just another print.
how on earth someone can sell their first print for £150 is just ridiculous. the price and the mystique adds to everything. Had this been £40 and outis was new artist, no one would have batted an eyelid. Pez actually has talent but that was ignored.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by doyle on Feb 15, 2014 22:21:38 GMT 1, surely the communication prior to printing this between GP and Outis was more than a couple of emails signed off as Outis? would a business/gallery happily print out all this with no bank details etc (with real names) with no form of security/guarantee on their side? if so, then very trusting, regardless of what the print looks like or who did it.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by graffuturism on Feb 15, 2014 22:27:51 GMT 1, 100% genuine is being questioned now because who is to say Jboy or anyone else is not Outis if GP doesnt know who outis is. GP states that because he knows the address he sent them to and he knows Jboys address. To me it is possible to get mail shipped anywhere and rerouted to wherever they would like. So GP's claim that it cant be Jboy could have holes poked in it. Why would anyone go through all the trouble to reroute mail, well why would outis go through all the trouble of putting steps in motion months ago with the FB page. To me Unless GP has something more than an address to dispute that Jboy is not Outis then he really cant say its not him 100% as he stated. Anyone could be Outis if he really doesnt know who the artist is. Am I wrong? Good point. The only way to prove Jboys are not Outis is for the real Outis to come forward or for GP to provide something conclusive by way of evidence. GP? Agreed

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by petro on Feb 15, 2014 22:33:37 GMT 1, "Jboy has always been same Jboy till one day he de-registered and came back as Freerange."
"What is the deal with freerange/jboy... its the same person but why are you not on here as an artist?"
Again, Freerange is Jboy. Mystery solved. Makes sense, since he's the one who posted the link to the Jboy Twitter page.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Coach on Feb 15, 2014 22:34:39 GMT 1, My recollection, for what it's worth (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), is that for a number of years Freerange's user name on this site was Jboy. At one point a few prints were released under the name Jboy, which was said to be more than one person. The impression I had was that freerange was either one of them, or at least involved in the project. As I say, that was my impression. Was that not the case freerange? As to whether this print is by Jboy, whether Jboy is still more than one person, and whether freerange has any involvement with this print, well I have no idea. Good luck to anyone who bought this print because they like it. It does nothing for me whatsoever.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by BKBOI on Feb 15, 2014 22:38:23 GMT 1, Don't know why anyone in their right mind would actually choose the username freerange.... the original freerange was a 2nd jboy account and was used to hype jboy's releases. I know that you got the special R going on freerange but you always talked like you know more than just a noob poster here on Banksy forum since the DALeast Laz release.

It's pretty obvious Jboy/Freerange is just trying to get a rise out of everyone. Personally, I think it's hilarious. But is he Outis? No, he's not. The Outis site is pretty clear about that. That doesnt prove anything, the thing about being mysterious is that anyone can claim to be the artist and also the instagram account clearly stated someone had accessed their feed but they now have full control. How does someone just access you instagram? You seem to be pretty confident that outis is not Jboy and also pretty focused about exposing jboy as freerange diverting the conversation away from how do you prove Jboy is not outis, or any other artist who wants to claim he is outis. Do you have some knowledge we dont.
As far as GP trying to say they can 100% say jboy is not Outis is incorrect as I stated earlier unless they have more information then they are leading on to. Which I am sure they do. Which also would lead me to believe they have been in on the whole thing. Them coming out saying that Jboy is 100% not Outis yet Say they are 99.99% sure its not banksy says alot about what they know and there also using the Banksy hype to make money.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by BKBOI on Feb 15, 2014 22:49:07 GMT 1, I don't think GP would go through the trouble of discrediting Jboy on twitter just to cause more drama. Remember, they are a genuine family run business.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by graffuturism on Feb 15, 2014 23:22:37 GMT 1, Is it even Legal wherever Gp is located to mislead their customers like this. I know we are all professionals and can make our own decisions but after translating and taking in all the happenings it is getting clearer what is happening. GP stating 99.99% that not a banksy translates to there is a .01 chance you are buying a banksy with this print. If they have no knowledge who the artist is and in fact were communicating with an artist named outis then it would be 100% chance it wasnt banksy, yet they invoke the .01% in there which misleads and is malicious now looking back. I say that because of the recent 100% statement it wasnt jboy which has not financial gain for them.
My arguments are only to engage conversation about the business tactics about this release, not the artists or the print I am sure everyone is happy that bought one and those that didnt I am sure they are ok.

No that is the exact rat from JPS's piece that Fragile mistakenly said was a Banksy. I know, I was offered the brown one in the picture at the time.

Are you leaving the proceeds in a brown bag in a rubbish bin for this mysterious artist to collect? utter rubbish Tax implications as well in the states any artist regardless of alias needs to fill out a w-9 form with the legal name in order to get paid or the gallery is left with the tax implications. Most galleries will send you a 1099 at the years end based on your earnings. Not sure what the practice is across the pond.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Wearology on Feb 15, 2014 23:47:49 GMT 1, You could say that any piece of art is 99.9% NOT Banksy unless it is on Banksy's web site or authenticated by Pest Control than it is 100% by Banksy. If Banksy's identity is supposedly not known by the general public which would include the owner of Graffiti Prints than there is your 0.1% chance it is by Mr. B.

No. Oh, and if the artist really wanted to be clever could they set up and LLC and be paid through that? Surely. I understand they are not in the US not sure where they are and too lazy to google it, but wherever they are I am sure there is a similar tax system. Of course you can set up a corp or LLC as well you are correct in the US we can still see who are the officers and associates on any corporation as well which would be a real person down the line somewhere.
