RIP Tom Finney, by Stoko on Feb 15, 2014 10:34:45 GMT 1, Surprised there wasn't a mention of this on here; I know theres plenty of football fans here. The England and Preston legend died last night; a sad day. My Dad was mates with him, he was a tremendous person; humble and time for everyone. Every time I went to watch Sunderland at North End he was always in the pub without fail!

I only heard this morning. I also heard that in all the games he played, he never once got booked.

RIP Tom Finney, by Hubble Bubble on Feb 15, 2014 11:23:21 GMT 1, My dad once saved his plumber's shop from going up in flamesโฆ saw it on fire and called the fire brigade when walking back from a night out in Preston. Dad alway slightly aggrieved that there wasn't even a 'thank you', let alone a ticket for North End. Notwithstanding that anecdoteโฆ a true legend and footballing great.
As somebody saidโฆ fought in World War 2, plumber, 30 goals for Englandโฆ not an Alice band or snood in sight!
