Moving the goalposts after an auction has started?, by seidbereit on Dec 16, 2007 1:21:54 GMT 1, I didn't think this was possible.
I was looking at this auction (3D No Surrender) 10 minutes ago and added it to watch list for later curiosity.
Returned to it, curious, again just now and the seller has apparently set a reserve price in the meantime (the "reserve not met" message definitely wasn't there before) although there were already 12 bids on the board before he altered it.... I thought no changes were allowed after bidding had started? What's the story with that?
He didn't bother to change the description though, it still says no reserve.
Greedy f***er - cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160190999678&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006

Moving the goalposts after an auction has started?, by giiiant on Dec 16, 2007 2:03:18 GMT 1, Hopefully it doesn't reach his reserve and he's forced to frame it, put it on his wall and appreciate it. The horror!

Moving the goalposts after an auction has started?, by morrissey1 on Dec 16, 2007 2:47:20 GMT 1, do you think POW is even bothering to try to stop this kind of thing...do you think they're trying to sort out who's who on the instant flip ebay thing, or is it just going to turn out to be too much work? I'm sure they have bigger fish to fry, but still, there must be a way --

They should do...it seems some cnuts have set up ebay accounts with the sole aim of flipping Santa's Ghetto prints. Hopefully they are getting burnt

PoW get too much stick over this type of thing. Not only is it difficult to stop a determined flipper, particularly given that they have only a very small staff dealing with a lot of demand, but also how many other online galleries (or offline for that matter) succeed in preventing flippers from buying their art.
