Is this the place to talk about this??
Just how many more times can the poor family suffer??
I'm of the generation that respected and feared the local beat bobby in equal measure. Now, is the saying Never trust a copper any more apt? Never one for saying I hate this country and I'm off to a different place. The very systems in place to protect us are rotten to the core and those responsible for this will probably sneak off into the shadows with a big pension.
Sending a undercover officer into the family?/ wtaf!! is that all about if they are not dirty?
Time line here.. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26465916

Stephen Lawrence, by Deleted on Mar 7, 2014 19:25:40 GMT 1, I first saw this post this morning and think it's rather disappointing that nothing has been added to it between badrobots last post and this one. It is also the only thread in the last 10 days that I feel is worthy of comment on this increasingly bland forum.
The way the Lawrence family has been treated has been truly appalling, and were it to happen in certain other countries we wouldn't be surprised.
For far too long the police have seen themselves as above the law. They seem to think they can behave how they see fit. Crucially they have an inability to distinguish between people who are a threat to society, protestors against corporate greed, democratic protest, and those seeking a desire for justice.
And let's not forget Hillsborough.
And while I'm not a supporter of politicians, the police are still lying today - witness the Andrew Mitchell affair.
As curiousgeorge said: "The very systems in place to protect us are rotten to the core and those responsible for this will probably sneak off into the shadows with a big pension."
C***ts, the whole f***in' lot of them.
And to those of you that don't think this is of relevance to you - wake up and realise what is going on.

Stephen Lawrence, by Deleted on Mar 7, 2014 21:26:08 GMT 1, Following various news reports and tv discussions I'm afraid that this is going to cause yet more problems between police and the people they are paid to protect. Various police forces in America have at some stage been shown to be corrupt and it now seems that some of our police seem to have the same levels of contempt for the people that pay their wages and index linked pensions that the majority of us will never benefit from. I was a teenager when Stephen Lawrence was brutally murdered and remembered the Panorama show which placed hidden cameras showing the guilty parties openly boasting about harming black people. I wasn't a saint at that point in my life and frequently was in contact with PC Plod. However it seems that my treatment was at all times fair, I hate to think what it would of been like if I wasn't a white middle class young man. The more I learn about this the more appalled I become. I have a good friend who is a traffic policeman and I would never expect him to be linked with this type of policing, however I am starting to realise that maybe the police have a sinister side that forms a dark underbelly the regular police person can never overcome.
RIP Stephen Lawrence
