It's no different from the 'pm offers' we get on the 'for sale thread' here........which I personally hate and often pass on.

Agreed. That and the fact that the first email was sent revealing everyone's email addresses and names.

Bisser ๐ง๐ช Belgium Street Art โข Print Release News, by chads007 on Aug 19, 2016 9:44:31 GMT 1, I think his reasoning was: people get time to have a think, offer on 3 works but one per person, there's no f10 and fastest finger and of course you offer what you wish to pay. So I kinda get that, but understand people not feeling comfortable.

Bisser ๐ง๐ช Belgium Street Art โข Print Release News, by chads007 on Aug 19, 2016 9:57:39 GMT 1, Think they were guide prices (I think).
Also, when people complain that things are priced too high or low for artists, I think this helps set prices based on demand

Bisser ๐ง๐ช Belgium Street Art โข Print Release News, by jayTown on Aug 19, 2016 11:01:16 GMT 1, Not sure what the fuss is about, i think it's a great way of doing it. And the fact that he's selling direct means you cut out the middle man.
I bought a canvas from him last time and it was super simple.

Bisser ๐ง๐ช Belgium Street Art โข Print Release News, by chads007 on Aug 19, 2016 14:13:49 GMT 1, Another option would have been for people to choose the 3 they like and to have had a lottery system with the prices shown in the pdf so no blind bidding, which obviously relies more on trust and highest price wins

Totally agree with cutting the middleman but 'highest offer'? Just set the price and either first come first serve or lottery as suggested.
No big fuss!

I think it's fair enough. Gives everyone an opportunity to make a bid for what they think it's worth. Isn't that the fairest way to do it? His prices are only guide prices, it's no different to how we buy and sell on here.

Because people in the FS thread are selling to the public. Bisser sent out this email to people in his mailing list. Think best thing is to unsubscribe if you find the practice distasteful. In all honesty, I also find the practice just wrong. Name a price and state if it is firm or negotiable.

Did you unsubscribe?
I appreciate the process as he sets the prices really low (and many of us get a chance at a piece we really like), vs when posters are all acting like giddy little insiders as they have access to something others desire with an inside look and making a point of saying so on the message boards.......
A lot of complaining about distasteful things around here while people act with no grace or class. (not saying you do that, btw)
But removing all that...dude is just trying to figure out how to make his art accessible to people.

Surely there are tried and tested ways to make art accessible to real fans. Offering a blind bidding process followed by a further bid if you match high bids says only one thing to me. I expect an artist to have an idea of where he values his work. He's been on the scene long enough.

Bisser ๐ง๐ช Belgium Street Art โข Print Release News, by chads007 on Aug 22, 2016 10:30:27 GMT 1, Must also remember he's young and we all make mistakes..he has been checking this thread. Obviously with some of his print releases with galleries and some of the issues there etx, he's wanted to start another approach with selling periodically directly to fans. I think a lottery approach would have had better intention, and I wouldn't be surprised if he switches to this in the future with the feedback he's had here
