Amsterdam , by Deleted on Mar 20, 2014 23:52:17 GMT 1, Belgique for a beer and some street artโฆ
One of the smallest bars in Amsterdam, Belgique still finds space for eight Belgian draught beers and more than 30 bottled varieties. Situated among tacky tourist traps in an alleyway just off Dam Square, Belgique has been able to preserve a sense of charm and credibility, partly through its reputation as one of the main hangouts for street artists and DJs in Amsterdam. While the beer selection consists of heady Belgian offerings, the interior is Dutch 17th century meets graffiti art. Old stone walls and oak panels have been spray painted by the London Police. Despite the smoking ban, the staff turn a blind eye if you light up. โข Gravenstraat 2, +31 20 625 1974, cafe-belgique.nl. Open Sun-Thurs 2pm-1am, Fri, Sat 2pm-3am

Amsterdam , by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Mar 21, 2014 5:52:00 GMT 1, I use to go over twice a year with the lads, great city. We always planned to do more things, but we never did as you get way too stoned!! One thing we did achieve was visiting Van Gogh museum which was great. Do not... i repeat don not buy weed called 'white widow'!! Crazy stuff... Enjoy your trip mate.

Lots of info on everything in English easily available.

Amsterdam , by Emile on Mar 21, 2014 10:22:58 GMT 1, Clothing = Kalverstreet indeed near Dam Square (it starts there) about 5 min - just down the street - from central train station
truth be told the Invaders are getting more and more rare in Amsterdam. I only know of a few really and quite a few have been removed (1 is actually on dam square under a little corridor!)
Rotterdam has more Invaders I think
In any case, if you have any questions feel free to let me know anytime

Amsterdam , by Wearology on Mar 21, 2014 17:23:31 GMT 1, Keep it coming guys. Is there a place to store my luggage in Amsterdam while I work. Can some of you guys ask your wife's, girlfriends & or teenage daughters where they like to shop for cool, hip, young clothing like Top Shop, River Island & Urban Outfitters. I am also going to Barcelona for a few days so if you have any tips on where to go - that would be great. Thanks, Jon

Have a search on Gaudi. Either get one of the buses, or hire a cab for a few hours to take you around the place.
Forget clothes shopping, enjoy the sights. Loads to do in both cities.
having said that, both places have all the usual designer clothes shops, you'll sniff em out easy enough, just look for the 'well dressed folk' and follow them (stalk)

Amsterdam , by kaboom on Mar 21, 2014 18:57:46 GMT 1, You should check out NDSM, take the ferry there on the left (it's free) behind the central station. Works from Broken Fingaz, Shoe, Bustart, C215 (still there?) an old submarin and more to see...
Another ferry takes you to the EYE where you can find a nice bar (Toren.nu) with a big Case from maclaim on it. Inside you will find a work from Snik and other artists.
If you take the other ferry it will bring you to "Stork", very nice restaurant and on the parking you will find nice murals from Zed1, Pipsqueak, TelmoMiel, etc
Nice gallery: www.gogallery.nl Next to a huge London Police mural
Maybe you find some Clet signs, but I think most of them are removed or stolen.
Nice bar and terras: www.amsterdamroest.nl/ Ask if you can watch in the building in front of it, there you will find murals from Matt Adnate etc if these are still there ?!
Oh and this saturday Steve Locatelli (Belgium) in the Dampkring Gallery!
Last but not least, maybe www.thisisname.com/ is open? They have some very nice decks from Snik, Handiedan etc
Have fun! Tom

Amsterdam, find your group some shrooms. Its a shame you can only get the weak ones now. Worked in Mannheim for a month, found it pretty dull but if you are going to s festy I am sure you will have a good time. Think Hitler is supposed to have been dumped there somewhere?!
