protection of cracked spraypaint?, by Deleted on Apr 5, 2014 15:54:26 GMT 1, Is the paint allready cracking?
What is it painted in? acrylic, oïl, spray paint polyurethane or other?
Is the paint cracking because it's drying too fast or because fatser draying paint wa spainted on top of slower drying paint?
usually the best way is to stop the canvas expanding and contracting due to moisture and heat etc.
It's the back of the canvas that absorbs moisture in the air and expands meaning any hard paint cracks.
You could try sealing the back of the canvas?
Canvas that is glued on wood or heavy card doesnt expand and move as much. So less cracking.
Some oïl paintings are also framed behind glass which helps preserve them and prevent cracking.
