From this day on ?, by Coach on Apr 5, 2014 22:39:36 GMT 1, Easy peasy this one slammer, my friend. Before before before. I hardly listen to any new music I'm afraid. Got all my punk and ska. Got my Dylan and Doors. Got the Smiths, and indie pop. I'm happy with all that. I have been indoctrinating my kids with The Cure recently. Boys don't cry. They like all my music except the punk stuff.

I read a study somewhere that after age 33, the average listener will gravitate towards music they are already familiar with or from artists they already like.

From this day on ?, by Deleted on Apr 5, 2014 22:44:37 GMT 1, I would have to say from now on. I don't watch any of the talent shows. In fact there not even A factor in this. I couldn't bare new albums coming out from artists I love and not being able to hear them or discovering new artists.
Sure I would miss loads from the past. But it would always be in my head. I am also taking a chance that at least one of my 4 kids will follow in a family tradition of performing. I couldn't miss that either. I'm sat here listening to Joanna Newsom Y's and the thought of never listening to it again is almost unthinkable. But she is a young women and has many years left. Bowie, Sinatra and so much else too. I however like the thought of being able to draw on the past and use the future with music. I think music gets better as we go on. i know most won't understand my point. That's because of not seeing beyond the shit we are force fed. We have a choice. If people are prepared to research in magazines like 'The Wire' and online etc you'll find an abundance of epic music. Thats all for now, sure I'll be back for more ;-).

I love prodigy and am glad I've got the chance to listen to the Omen but if I had to choose Coach summed it up, Dylan, the cure and of course Hendrix. Here's one for you Coach

Bring back Alma Cogan / Judith Durham and Roger Whittaker.
Is it the future now? oh yes!.

I know you are teasing mate. I know the cure are far from punk. It's just that it's the cure that I am enjoying at the moment with my boys. My eldest now wears a smiths t shirt!! I am teaching them well. My punk I listen to alone!! You are a star slammer!!

Thanks castle, but not the best track to choose. That was their chart single really. Would have preferred boys don't cry ort just like heaven, or 10.15 Saturday night, or imaginary boys. The early stuff is the best (it usual say is with most bands!).

From this day on ?, by Deleted on Apr 6, 2014 9:52:25 GMT 1, Punk, Rock 'n' roll, Rave, Rap and on. I love so much more than this.
I think its true to say we are have been very lucky indeed.
Artists I love currently producing music include-
PJ Harvery Joanna Newsom Bjork Animal Collective The Knife Wolf eyes Melt banana (you'll love them I reckon coach) playing Bristol again soon. Matmos Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy etc) and of course David Bowie (not that his last album was as good as the hype, but the branding was better than Banksy could've pulled off) I love so much more of today and yesterdays music it's a great choice to not have to make.

I certainly am do not chase new tunes like I used to unfortunately
