New York - October - help!, by Deleted on Apr 7, 2014 16:02:29 GMT 1, Hi all
Planning a trip to New York with the family in October.
Looking for recommendations for hotels - ideally not big chains prefer independent boutique type places, in nice to stay calm areas rather than central tourist locations but with good access to standard tourist stuff plus galleries etc. plenty of good places to eat nearby would be good. Not too spenny but not a dive either
I have only ever been once very briefly so any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance E

I haven't been but the location is insane and it's supposed to be quite dope. Don't know much re. price... Fill me in!

New York - October - help!, by Deleted on Apr 7, 2014 17:28:41 GMT 1, I'd try AirBNB... Have found some great places to stay at a fraction of hotel costs... last place I stayed was less than $100/night for a private apartment in Chelsea with a rooftop garden

New York - October - help!, by kbfrombk on Apr 7, 2014 17:55:39 GMT 1, The ironic problem with that hypothesis though, is that us New Yorkers have rather limited experience (at least this one does!) with NYC hotel room reservations!!

New York - October - help!, by dreadnatty on Apr 8, 2014 1:00:05 GMT 1, @ekap Anything in Manhattan is going to cost a fair amount of $$, with the nicer,'boutique' stuff even more. Might want to consider Williamsburg --> close to Manhattan, lots of good eats and lots of art to see.
