New Banksy?, by Deleted on Apr 21, 2014 14:18:05 GMT 1, Not everyone seing as I get quite a few likes for some of my posts. I wouldn't be surprised if some with financial interests and flippers don't like any criticisms posted or any peoples real opinions. If this thread is about the new Banksy of the mobile lovers then my honest opinion is it's not original it's a boring image and if one looks at it on it's own merits it looks like a copy of a stock photo to me. There again some of the most successful selling artists are know to be plagiarists. I'm interested in art while others only see the £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ cant have criticism can we, don't want the stock price to fall.
How can you criticise Banksy when your art is so pathetic ?
I'm not criticising Banky's art at all.
I like his stencils and some of his art.
I don't know if he paints his own oils before sticking a nazi soldier on them but anyone an do that.
Whats funny is the long debates when a new stencil is found on a wall with experts debating if it's a Banksy stencil or a stencil by a non Banksy in which case ignore it.
Which proves that Banksy stencils look like anyone elses stencils.
Which proves that it's all in the name.
I don' care if my art is pathetic or not.
Anyone can whack a big stencil image on a wall.
I like Syd
You don't even realise who Banksy is calling morons do you.

You are correct about it being all in the name, the stall in NY selling canvas for $60 proved that.
but to me unlike most other stencil artists there is more to banksy than just stencil art he's always up to somthing

New Banksy?, by Deleted on Apr 21, 2014 14:39:10 GMT 1, That'll explain your promoting your own work in the comments filed on the Banksy article then..lol. Can I ask, how old are you and what do you do ? Difficult to tell, sometimes you sound like a teenager and others a bitter older gent. In a national rag like the Guardian or any other of course I would always link to my art if possible.
So would all other artists. After all they are just advertorials in those rags not really independant articles by todays so called journos.
I'm old enough to have met Dali and young enough to be an outsider.
From your own website www.nuartfestival.no/about-us
""The Nuart Festival follows the ethos behind the Nu teams desire to provide an annual platform for national and international artists who operate outside of traditional systems. Outsiders if you like. The event aims to stimulate debate by challenging entrenched notions of what art is, and more importantly, can be"
yet when anyone criticises what is fast becoming jaded and boring by some of todays so called big names you don't like it.
Mate, no disrespect, but I've been a member of this community here since 2006, as have many others. This board is populated by artists, writers, bloggers, collectors, critics, curators, publishers and just out and out street art aficionados from around the globe. Your constant stream of uninformed inanities is just flat out annoying, I'm sure it puts people off posting and contributing to threads. Nobody wants to be outright rude, but maybe consider the community board your posting on before spamming every thread with your opinions. Just a thought.
Peace

Forums are for debate or they were last time I looked.
There again you are in the business of making money from promoting rather than making art for the sake of art.
In fact Nuart, i'd say you can stick your condescending remarks where the sun don't shine.
Your in the gallery game and sell Banksy's art so of course you will slag off anyone that has an opinion which dosn't comply to your sales pitch.

Impeccable research, but still, don't break the forum hey. We get you're an artist and trying to make a living from your work, so respect for that, it's not an easy life, but you're not doing yourself any favours with your current approach.
peace

New Banksy?, by Dr Plip on Apr 21, 2014 19:26:42 GMT 1, It's nice to see that the graffiti's had a positive impact on the area, for both trade and civic pride. A few hundred thousand Banksy rats, and we (and by we, I mean Banksy) can turn this country around.
