May have been a different story if Idea Painter was a white background.
(I like the blue, but that price is a joke!)
As for the other one, Vandal, no idea why anyone that isn't from Norway would buy it.

Plus he has the tassels on the side of one of his legs coming from his pocket and that is a Hasidic Jew that usually does that and would make it a yamaka on his head. Just my 2 cents Without being labelled an anti semite. I do not see the Yamaca or the tassels... I definitely do not see the curly long hair by his ears either  Am I the only one? Little bit of interesting history.... there are approximately 1300 Jews in Norway.

For instance I personally thought the Banky NY show was mainly pretty boring stuff that's been done to death but some others saw something different. I like most of Dolk's stuff, he's done a few dud pieces like Graffiti Remover, but I think these are both very catching pieces. The world would be a very boring place if we all likes the same things. I find it interesting that your website has Dolk under your artists with 'Out of stock' written next to 3 of his prints yet you've told me to my face that you have never stocked him and never will as you hate his work. Seems a bit misleading to your customers to me.

Prints are big business for flippers. No, sorry, WAS big business. Now it`s just big business for printers. I think half or more of all sold prints go to people with an intension of flipping them in the future. And making money on that idea with that development cant last...

I Like a lot Dolk, it is one of my prefered stencil maker , but.. But... he exploits a little the seam (with a lot of these excellent street-artists from Norway (Dot Dot Dot, Pobel, etc...) and feeds on many prints (which makes us big eaters of prints, for the more fortunate ) Unfortunately, we would like to see also, some artworks in the street, I think. This is not a criticism, just a finding which engages only me. And, frankly, the children are - always ;-) - a good excuse ;-)
I know that my comment will not be so much appreciated, but I like when Street-artists ( ok, they should live alos and eat, and buy the paint ) show us their artworks in... the street ! ( no don't remove their walls if you please ;-))

Or getting stencils laser cut. I agree, it's another tool to make things easier. I'm sure when the first caveman (or woman) started using a stick to draw on the cave wall, someone will have called them a cheating bastard. |

I agree doc street art by street artists is becoming a dying trade ... Particularly these Scandinavian ones, but then I guess it's quite chilly and who needs to break rules when living within them makes you so much cash?

I'm not sure what Gary has to do with this, but the reason I sometimes mention him here & post up pictures is because he has more skill with a spraycan than anyone else i've ever seen. Yes 'graffiti' isn't to everyone's taste, but it has more meaning behind it than most things I see here.
I have nothing against Dolk, but I wish he'd use the undoubted riches he's accumulated to get off his bum & do something to blow people away rather than sitting anonymously in his studio producing a screenprint every few months. I have nothing against any of the 'Norwegian artists', however given a preference, I would rather see photographs & discussion here of original, passionate, meaningful, skillful & ballsy art... rather than endless chat about derivative & meaningless prints.

Thank you for illustrating my point. Many buy prints due to the great increase in price they have had the latest years. I bought my first Dolk in 2008. They were available for a long time. When I bought Kitty, they went out pretty fast, but I could have bagged one more after the first, if I wanted.

My Kitty is not for sale. None of my Dolks are. And if I buy another, it wont be to sell it. Prints in general are being sold by the tons. My opinion is that we wont see the rise in value we have seen since Dolk started. And I do not think it`s easy flipping Vandal or Idea Painter and earn big bucks. His good prints will rise in value, but just being a Dolk is not enough any more imo...
