Height to hang pieces?, by Deleted on May 2, 2014 11:27:42 GMT 1, The rule of thumb I use is that I keep artwork at eye level. This does not mean all works are displayed at same height, I generally take the focal point and work the height from there. This is also the general rule that many galleries use I believe.

Height to hang pieces?, by opalis141 on May 2, 2014 16:57:25 GMT 1, Gallery standard is 57 inches from the floor to the middle of the piece--which is supposed to roughly mimic eye level. If you are taller or shorter you can adjust for your height, if wanted.

Went with what looked the best, drilled and put the first print up, looks good. Measured it and its just short of 1.59 so will do the rest the same...

Height to hang pieces?, by alittle on May 3, 2014 14:25:08 GMT 1, Eye level.
Also not a fan of the wallpaper look, stacking things on top of one another, unless it is two smaller pieces (A4 size or less). Personally, I'd prefer to rotate the collection than try to get everything up on the wall. Better for the longevity of the pieces, and I'm sure the majority would say more aesthetically pleasing. But, in the end, obviously do what makes you happy.

Height to hang pieces?, by LAZARIDES on May 3, 2014 17:11:54 GMT 1, We use the standard five foot rule - 60" (152.4cm) from the floor to the centre of the work.
Having said that, if you have low ceilings it'll look terrible at 60", it's better in these cases to have someone hold the piece against the wall for you and hang it where you think it looks best.
