Talk to me about access points, by Coach on May 3, 2014 22:43:54 GMT 1, Oh my! Soz mate. Wasn't trying to be a stress head!! Just trying to understand. Have you still got the booster thingy? Fancy flogging it to me? Even though it's rubbish. I'm told by my youngest that he needs one. You can have it coach, I have had it a while and the business bought it anyway www.maplin.co.uk/p/netgear-universal-wifi-range-extender-a93ktPm me address, and i'll post it Tuesday
My, that's very generous. Will do. I will let you know if it works. It's to get wifi up to the youngest's room. I will benefit though, as it will stop him bringing his game down to the sitting room and shooting people there. He says it doesn't work in his room due to the wifi. Thank you very much.

I reckon you just need to poke the hole where the missing key is, hard.
Or, isn't there two caps locks? One on the other side of the keyboard (can't check, on my phone at hand mo)

Talk to me about access points, by 11 on May 4, 2014 13:02:48 GMT 1, Techie geek alert : If you are considering laying down some ethernet for a home network or extending your wifi then i'd go with Cat6 - Cat6 is Gigabit Ethernet whereas cat5 is 100mb - most routers these days support Gigabit so Cat5 will limit your streaming capacity on your internal network

Talk to me about access points, by Momo on May 4, 2014 13:22:26 GMT 1, I am so confused!!!! Let's say you bought a house (new or old) and wanted the whole thing wired up, who would you get to do it, I ask because I know a lot of traditional electricians aren't great at this and how much would it cost for an avg 2/3 bed semi?(I am asking as curious architecture student)

Talk to me about access points, by Warm Gun on May 4, 2014 14:38:58 GMT 1, I know a lot of electricians that now included these kind of installations in their repertoire, I for one wire this kind of stuff all the time in commercial and industrial premises. Most new builds require this kind of tech as standard due to future proofing and the fact that there is now so much technology that you can power from what is essentially just standard data cable. For the sake of a few cables and a hub you could control your lighting, tv, sound system, pc etc. I can't see why an average 3 bed semi would cost more than £1.5-3k to wire an all singing all dancing system like this. It really does depend on what a customers requirements are.
