Banksy's boy's club Bristol gift 'could fetch £500K', by randomname on May 8, 2014 17:58:38 GMT 1, That's cool Banksy sent them a letter sorting it out. It's probably the one Banksy street art auction no one can reasonably object to.

Banksy's boy's club Bristol gift 'could fetch £500K', by singerstu on May 8, 2014 18:01:39 GMT 1, This is crazy. Whilst it is authentic it has no pest control certification. The letter means nothing. It might not even be real. Anyone could have typed that out. They need to apply for a COA first surely?

Banksy's boy's club Bristol gift 'could fetch £500K', by Deleted on May 8, 2014 18:19:32 GMT 1, If the letter is genuine it's clear that he says he would like the art to help the boxing club.
I'd be more inclined to go with the Oracle group estimate of the price.
""But James Butterwick, an art advisor to wealth consultants the Oracle Capital Group, said the piece could raise a lower £100,000""
Seing as it seems to be all about investing in art these days as opposed to people spending millions just for the pleasure of the art itself and Oracle see contemporary art in terms of cold hard investment.
It might be that some zillionaire pays top dollar for the piece because it's being sold for charidee but not sure how much empathy overseas bidders will have for money going to a UK boxing club as opposed to other types of charities like the one the painting in New York was sold on behalf of.

Banksy's boy's club Bristol gift 'could fetch £500K', by Deleted on May 8, 2014 18:27:42 GMT 1, I think the sale is sorted as far as the council is concerned. They have decided that profits are shared among the boxing club and other local yoof projects.
Better to sell it as opposed to sticking it in Bristol museums black vault with all the other art they have stored down there.

Every charity (the small ones that have to fight for cash wherever they can get their hands on it ) dreams of that moment when they receive enough funds to stop the hair pulling, stressful days of application form writing, commissioning to convince borough or funders that they are worthy of funding. This must feel like a dream for them - a donation of art that will generate unrestricted funds to be used on whatever they feel will benefit the kids and centre directly.
The amount of kids that they will be able to help over the years will be mind blowing! I wish it were my centre for my kids. Amazing gesture. Love it!

I'd say ring that bloke up as soon as they take back possession and call it a day.

Because you have photocopied it blown it up to trace it, to make it easier to do when bigger.......... Plus when has banksy every stepped in for ownership of street art.

Even when PEST did not give out a COA on it... Good for him!
