That's what I figured. I did ponder getting in touch with them as Sam Friedman has been on my watch list for some years now. But I pulled the trigger on the Jan Kalab mini original so what I would have spent on this went there. It was actually a bit more affordable and there's no framing involved. Maybe the next time around... |

And until you really look at them side by side you cannot appreciate how simple yet complex these are. would love to see some studio shots of the process of making these. a big thumbs up for me.

Presale email went to my junk mail! Anyone got pictures of these new ones? They were not great, honestly. The colors didn't seem as bright with this edition (though difficult to capture his colors in pictures). And the composition seemed pretty messy with leaves and clouds just randomly mashed onto each other. I was surprised that it sold out and hope he moves onto newer work rather than rehashing the same thing year after year. |

I wrote to them because I was thinking of getting another one.
They sent me the pre sale password. I looked an hour later and for some reason it wouldnโt link to the monoprints after I entered the password. All I could see was a blank white screen with menu options at top. Then... pre sale was closed popped up on the site later. So Iโm out of luck on these.

Only way to get on their email list is to continually email them until someone replies. Wish someone would have told me a few years ago how the process worked, would have saved me some heartache!
In regards to this release. The pre-sale email from Louis Buhl came in at 5:52 PM CST / 6:52 EST. When most people have left the office are only on their phones, not on their computers, in a car or subway, at an Art Basel opening party, eating diner, etc. Aka a less than ideal time to view, select and check out in the quickest manner possible when on an iPhone and all of them are selling out one by one. Interesting release time for sure.
The price was stepped up for sure. They appear to be priced right below the eBay resale prices. Smart for them. Sucks for someone expecting a similar price to previous releases.
They delete the listing for each print as it is sold. I think it's lame but that's how they operate. I've attached photos of all the releases. Luckily my iPhone browser page didn't refresh since yesterday.

And that is strange because I can clearly still view a lot of the beach mini prints from the previous versions. It says sold out but at least you can see it.
