I have always assumed that they are dead.
One of the cosmonaut paintings is called Heat Death.
I also took the birds in another to be symbolism of the soul leaving the body.
Looks like good things to come for Mr Geddes, with the Bovarian State Opera using various cosmonaut paitings in the promotional posters, and a show at Jonathan Levine gallery coming up.
Quality rises.

I've never actually assumed the Cosmonaut to be dead either? Maybe I'm not looking closely enough but I guess that stacks up.
I was going to agree with previous poster where they suggested that the presence of the Cosmonaut took something away from the beauty of the art but then again if he's dead then the piece moves around him (or her, I'm trying to be PC) and adds another dimension.
Cheap vs the talent, I'd say.

More something that can be up or down, uplifting or frustrating. With that kind of symbolism the cosmonaut surely adds quality/beauty to his pieces rather than taking it away. But as usual that is just my subjective point of view.

Managed to get down there....Not a 100% match to the print
A) didn't have the good camera
B) wasn't prepared to lie in the gutter to take the shot

In any case, I was able to score one of his small pieces from the sale of a few pieces he did last year on his site. I can't even find the link to it on his blog anymore. It's approximately 8x10 and I believe I paid $600AUS.
The only other OG of his I have ever seen for sale was a charity ebay auction for a painted postcard of a dove that brought over $900, if my memory serves me correctly. And that was slightly earlier than the purchase of my painting, so I am ambitiously guessing its value as closer to $2000+ or perhaps more to the right buyer considering the upcoming JLG show as well.
Tough times in my home mean I have had to think about selling it. Any ideas, theories, thoughts would be appreciated. I hate to do it, and am almost hoping to get a low estimate to keep me from selling. Thanks.
